Leak: Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Cosmetics May Be Transferred to BO7
Jul 22, 2025

The ESRB has given a new age rating to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and it may mean the "Carry Forward" feature is back. This lets players move their look items from one Call of Duty game to the next. With two Black Ops games one after the other, it's not too odd that Activision is letting players keep their bought items. Yet, some who play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 are not happy with this plan.
In the middle of 2023, just before Modern Warfare 3 came out, the company behind Call of Duty, Activision, said they would start a new Carry Forward feature. This would let players take their look items, like gun designs and gear, from Modern Warfare 2 in 2022 to the next game. But this feature did not stay for Black Ops 6 in 2024, so any packs bought were only for Modern Warfare 3. Now, with Black Ops 7 coming up, players want to know if Activision will bring the feature back and keep letting wild gear swaps into Call of Duty.
Today, the ESRB put out the age rating for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. It got an M for mature, the same as past games. The rate's info gave hints about what Black Ops 7 will bring, like bad dreams, more executions, and other stuff. But fans picked up on one thing fast: the game talks about using a bong-like tool on a gun to inhale marijuana as a final move, like in Black Ops 6. If Black Ops 7 has this move too, it looks like Activision might let players keep their old gear for the new game.
Fans are split on this. Some say the wild skins from Black Ops 6 are too much for Black Ops 7, while others think it's good for gamers to bring their stuff over. On Twitter, Nate shared, "Carry forward should just be for Warzone," but not all agree. Hovy posted, "I paid for skins; I sure want to keep them. I don't get what the issue is here."
It's nice for players to keep their bought items in a new game, but fans don't like the silly-looking skins and crazy gun blueprints in what should be a real-life-style shooter. With Carry Forward coming back, fans think Activision won't make the game old-style again.
At the start of this year, a trusted source said that Activision might change how they make Call of Duty skins. The word is that the team knows players think the game is getting silly with ties to things like Squid Game and Ninja Turtles. It was said that the company thought about making skins more real, but they also know that these team-ups make a lot of money for them.
